Summary
This book examines Nazi Germany's ambitious but ultimately unrealized plans to conduct long-range bombing operations against the United States during World War II. Manfred Griehl details the Luftwaffe's various technical proposals and aircraft designs intended to cross the Atlantic, including the Amerika Bomber project. The work explores the strategic thinking behind these plans, the engineering challenges involved in developing intercontinental bombers, and why these operations never materialized. Drawing on historical documents and technical specifications, Griehl provides insight into one of the war's lesser-known aspects of German military planning.
